On May 17, 2018, Kayla released their very first poetry book titled Each Step In. The 60-page book centers on the intergenerational environmental anxiety that today's two youngest generations face. Through rhyming poetics and digital drawings, Kayla articulates how leaving art and emotion out of climate change politics can cause these anxieties to dominate current times. Each Step In is intended for audiences who experience the many emotions– those turbulent and those empowering– that come with acknowledging and confronting global environmental injustice.
