I started the school year off with an internship position at UW Botanic Gardens, where I will be an assistant teacher—twice a week— at an entirely outdoor preschool called Fiddleheads Forest School (FFS). My goals for this internship were to learn the many teaching methods within environmental education, observe how learning in an outdoor environment impacts students, and be the biggest help as possible towards the mission of the school: to equip students with the capacity to practice self-regulation positively.
